Hidalgo County Releases Updated 2021 Recovery Plan Performance Report

Updated: Apr 20, 2022

The State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program, a part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), delivers monetary aid to state, local, and Tribal governments across the country to support their response to and recovery from the COVID-19 public health emergency. Recipients of the SLFRF program with a population that exceeds 250,000 residents are required to submit a Recovery Plan Performance Report (Recovery Plan) to the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury). The updated Hidalgo County 2021 Recovery Plan provides the public and Treasury information on its SLFRF projects and how the program is working to ensure projects are executed in an equitable, efficient and effective manner. Recovery Plans are submitted every July for the duration of the legislation.

On August 31, 2021, Hidalgo County submitted the Hidalgo County 2021 Recovery Plan Performance Report to the U.S. Department of the Treasury and published the report on the County’s website (www.hidalgocounty.us). In accordance with the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds Interim Final Rule: Frequently Asked Questions, Treasury allowed recipients of the SLFRF program to submit an updated 2021 Recovery Plan with additional, planned or current uses of SLFRF.

The Hidalgo County ARPA Program resubmitted its Recovery Plan to reflect additional uses of SLFRF. The updated Hidalgo County 2021 Recovery Plan provides the public and Treasury information on its SLFRF projects and how the program is working to ensure projects are executed in an equitable, efficient, and effective manner.
